if L = 8cm, B=6cm, how to find the length of the diagonal of a rectangle using pythagoras theorem pls?

The sides of rectangle are L = 8 cm B = 6 cm.

Since all angles of rectangle are 90o, then the figure formed by the diagonal and two sides of a rectangle will be a right angle triangle.

The as per Pythagoras theorem :

Hypotenuse2 = Base2 + Perpendicular2

Hypotenuse = √ Base2 + Perpendicular2

Hypotenuse = √62 + 82 = √36 + 64 = √100 = 10 cm.

Ans: 10 cm.

(rectangle ABCD)

In triangle BCD, D= 90 degrees

By pythagoras property

BCsquare=BDsquare+CDsquare

=BCsquare=6square+8square

=BCsquare=36+64

BCsquare=100

BCsquare=10*10

BC=10cm

Therefore,Diagonal=10cm
