# if one-third of a tank holds 80 litres of water then what is the quantity of water in litres when it is half filled ?

Let the volume of tank be x

When it is 1/3rd filled,

(1/3 )x=80

x=80*3/1=240 litres

Half of the capacity means

0.5*240=120 litres.

Hope This Helps! Cheers

If 1/3 0f a tank holds 80 litres of water:

Then the whole tank will hold = 80 litre X 3

i.e, 240 litres of water.

1/2 0f 240 litres = 120 litres.

Therefore, the tank when half-filled, will hold 120 litres of water.

1/2 - 1/3 = 1/6
80/1 divided by 1/6 = 80\1 x  6/1 = 120 litres
