if rhizobium isnt participating in nitrogenn fixation, then it is

a ) free living and aerobic

b) symbiotic and facultative

c) free living and anaerobe ..the ans given is A. plz explain hw.. wats the concept.. explain why others false

  • The most important symbiotic nitrogen fixing bacteria is Rhizobium which is symbiotically associated with the roots of leguminous plants and forms root nodules. These bacteria grow in the soil near the roots of higher plants where they fail to fix nitrogen. These bacteria interact chemically with roots through root hairs. Then enter into root hairs through chemical signals. Finally these invading bacteria multiply and stimulate the tetraploid cells to divide.
