If the angle between the mirror and incident ray is 40 degree what will be the angle of incidence and angle of reflection?

40 and 40 degree

The total angle between the mirror and the normal is 90 degrees. If the angle between the mirror and the incident ray is 40 degrees, then the angle between the incident ray and the normal , i.e., the angle of incidence / angle of reflection is (90 - 40) degrees = 50 degrees.

Hope you get your answer.

50 degree
90-40=50 degree

Given that the angle between incident ray and mirror = 40°
 i. Angle of incidence = 90° - Angle between incident ray and mirror = 90 - 45 = 50°
ii. Angle of reflection = Angle of incidence = 50°
iii. Total angle turned = Angle of incidence + Angle of reflection
= 50° + 50° = 100°
