if the hypotnuse of a right angled triangle is 200msquare and the triangle is isoceless find the measure of each side

Let the measure of each of the equal sides of an isosceles right angled triangle = y m

So, perpendicular (p) = y m

 base (b) = y m

hypotenuse (h)  = ?

area of the triangle = 200 m2

so, perpendicular (p) = 20 m = base (b)

since the given triangle is a right angled triangle, so by Pythagoras theorem, we have

 (p)2 + (b)2 = (h)2

⇒ (20)2 + (20)2 = h2

⇒ 400 + 400 = h2

so,  h2 = 800

 so, h = 20√2 m

so the sides of the triangle are 20m, 20m and 20√2 m.
