if the length of a shadow on the ground of a pole 60 m high is 20root3 m,the sun's altitude is

a) 60 b)30 c)45 d)15 ..

hey can 1 tell me hw to do this???

here sun's altitude is the angle of sun

let the sun's angle be ѳ

then,

Tan ѳ = 60/203

   = 3/3

Now on rationalizing the fraction we get 33/3 i.e. 3

And since we know that √3 = tan 60.

Therefore sun’s altitude is 60 degrees.
