If the point (x,y) is equdistant from the points A(5,1) and B(1,5) prove that 3x=2y

Dear Student,

Please find below the solution to the asked query:

We have two points  A( 5 , 1 ) , B(  1 , 5 )

We know distance formula  :  d = x2 - x12 + y2 - y12 ,

Given : If the point (x , y ) is equidistant from the points A( 5 , 1 ) and B( 1 , 5 )  , So

5- x2 +  1 - y2 =  x- 12 +  y - 52 Squaring both side we get : 5- x2 +  1 - y2=  x- 12 +  y - 52We know : a - b 2 = a2 + b2 - 2 a b  , So 25 + x2 - 10 x + 1 + y2 - 2 y= x2 + 1 - 2x + y2 + 25 - 10 y- 10 x  - 2 y= - 2x  - 10 y- 8 x  =- 8 yx  =y                   (Ans )

But that result is different from asked query , So kindly recheck given query and get back to us so that we could help you precisely .
