If the radius of circle is tripled, by how many times does its circumference increase?

How many times does its area increase?

Suppose we have a circle of radius r.
Then its circumference = 2πr
And its area = πr2
Now when the radius of circle gets tripled i.e the radius of the circle will be 3r.
Then its circumference = 2π×3r = 6πr
And its area = π3r2 = 9πr2
So, circumference of circle of radius 3rcircumference of circle of radius r = 6πr2πr = 3
circumference of circle of radius 3r = 3×circumference of circle of radius r
Therefore the circumference will become 3 times when the radius of the circle gets tripled.

Also, area of circle of radius 3rarea of circle of radius r = 9πr2πr2 = 9
area of circle of radius 3r = 9×area of circle of radius r
Therefore the area of circle will become 9 times when the radius of the circle gets tripled.
