if the roots of ax2+bx+c=0,are equal in magnitude,but opposite in sign

The second answer posted by amogh24 is correct except for the last step.

The other root is

I think roots are

 root b / a   and

root -b / a

Let its roots be m and -m

then alpha = m

and beeta = -m

alpha * beeta =  c / a

m(-m) = c / a

m2 =  - c / a

m = root - c / a

and another root  = root c / a

 In this question, the quadratic equation will NOT be of the form -

                                             a x2 + b x + c = 0

it will get converted to the form -

                                            4a x 2 - b2 = 0

(the term containing x will be eliminated)
