if the surface area of a cube is 486 cm sq, find its volume?

surface area of cube = 6 X (s)2

where "s" is the side of the cube.

therefore,

6s2 = 486

hence, s2 = 81

=> s = 9 cm

therefore volume = (s){as all the dimensions have same length}

= (9)3

= 729 cm3

hope it helps!!

cheers!!!

thumbs up plzz...

Total surface area of cube= 6a2 = 486cm
a = side of cube
=a2= 486/6=81 cm2
=>a= /`81= 9 cm
Therefore volume= a3 = 9=9*9*9= 729 cm3
thumbs up please.

Total surface area of cube= 6a2
= 486cm= 6a2
= 486cm/6= a2
a2= 81cm
= a= 9cm
the answer is 9cm

CSA=6a2
CSA=486cm2
Volume=a3
6a2=486
a2=486/6
a2=81cm
a=9cm

volume=9*9*9=729cm3

volume of the cuboid = length x breadth x height= 5x2x5=50

check whether 50 is a perfect cube or not by prime factorisation

u will find that 50=5x5x2

so, which no. should be multiplied to 50 so that it bcomes aperfect cube,

we know that 50=5x5x2, so we need one 5 & 2 twos', i.e. 5x2x2,which=20.

therefore ans=20

hope this helps:)
