Dear Student
If the total product is maximum, then the marginal product will be zero.Marginal Product is the described as the change in total product ensuing from one additional unit of a variable factor. For output to be maximized the marginal product ought to be zero As if marginal product ≥ zero it is profitable to expand production.  If marginal product ≤ zero it is worthwhile to minimize production.
