let the coordinates be A(0,0) ,B(3.root 3) and C(3,k)

since it is an equilateral triangle ,therefore

AB = BC = AC

AB =BC

root [ (0,3)2 +(0- root3 )2] = root [ (3-3)2+ (3-k)

[root and root gets cancelled]

32 + root 32 = 02 + (3-k)2

9+3= (3-k)2

12= 32- 6k +k2

12= 9 -6k +k2

0= k2 -6k-3

k2-6k-3=0
