if u were asked to give a different ending to the story "on the face of it" how would u end it describe briefly and why?

The story seen in a different way is as follows.

While Mr. Lamb develops an inferiority complex as he has a tin leg and hence he intentionally distances himself from people and likes to live in solitude. Derry is an optimist. He has a scarred face. And there are many people who hate him or pity him for his ugly face.
Though on the other hand, children make fun of him Derry takes it in his stride. He does not let his tin leg affect his life .He believes in enjoying life in its glory. He enjoys the sun, accepts life without any bitter feeling, He keeps his house open for everyone. He shows his good character even if he has scarred face and speaks to everyone and goes to all to talk and preach good things in life. He does experience responsive people who ultimately become his friends.
The moral is clear that physically disabled  should not be isolated,  we should help them expand their social interactions  help  them fight loneliness, depression and disappointment. Derry explains Mr.Lamb that he has undergone difficulties in life, but never to give up and live life with vigour as having a tin leg should not make you distance from people. A thing is a beauty for one while that beauty may be a beast for others.
