If we have 10 cells in a culture plate and each cell takes 30 minutes to multiply. How many cells would be visible on the next day? Please answer with proper explanantion.

Dear Student

Given that the cells double themselves after 30 mins.
We have to find the number of cells after 24 hours (24x60=1440 minutes).

A cell doubles in 30 minutes.
In 1440 minutes, number of times the cells double themselves in the culture = 1440/30 = 48 times (48 generations seen after 24 hours)

Therefore, each cell doubles itself 48 times in 24 hours.
Using the formula: Number of cells after n generations= 2(where n=48)
=We get 248 cells after 24 hours

However, there were 10 cells in the culture.
In 24 hours, number of cells found in it = (248 x 10) cells.
