if you have a dense laboratory culture of bacteria in a petridish, what is the best measure to report its density?

  1. Standard plate count/Colony forming units (CFUs): Manual Colony count upto 30, afterwards will be mentioned as Too numerous to count (TNTC)
  2. Serial dilution with standard suspension(made up of McFarland Turbidity Standards)
  3. Direct microscopic count
  4. Turbidimetric Measurement: Measurement of cell concentration in suspension by optical density

For calculating d density of bacteria. The dense solution has to be dilute it for at least 100 times this makes calculation a lot more easy. the total number should be determined appropriately

It is difficult to calculate no of bacteria as it Is un millions... so it is best to go for biomass per cent ... and it is easy
