If you were in the narrators position, would you have told Connie that she was mistaken and that you were not her Jim?Why/Why not?

If I had been in the narrator's place I would have told Connie the truth that I was not Jim. It is better to tell the truth to such people because if we hide the truth then we are raising their hopes and this may be dangerous in the long run. If Connie comes to know about the death of Jim, she may be upset but with time she may learn to accept the fact.
