Imagine that all the seeds produced by a plant happen to fall under the same plant and sprout into new plants. Mention two problems faced by the new plant.

  • If the entire seeds spout near the mother plant there will be a competition between plants. The new plant will fail to get adequate nutrition, light and water that may reduce the normal growth and development of plant.
  • If dispersal does not occur the plants cannot reach to the favorable habitats.
  • Dispersal of seed helps in transforming vacant habitats into natural greeneries and new geographic regions may form.

1)The sprouts would not get proper sunlight because the grown plant will create a roof & will be like an obstacle.

2)The sprouts will also not get nutrients & minerals properly from the soil. This is  b'coz  there are many plants over same area which results competition for survival.
