In a democracy , people organize meetings to voice their opinions and protest against the government . Justify .

1. A democracy runs according to the will of the people. It is important that a democratic government is responsive to the wishes of the people.

2. Organised meetings and protests against government policies are ways in which people in a democracy make their voice heard to the government.  

3. Without such meetings, the only way in which the people can express their opinion would be by resorting to violence.

4. Meeting, therefore, provide an outlet for the people to express their views in a non-violent manner. Such meetings and protests, therefore, play an important part in the functioning of a democracy.
