In a population of 100 individuals, attached earlobes(a recessive trait) are present in 9 individuals. What is the number of heterozygotes in this population?
How to solve this plz explain...

Dear Student,

According to Hardy Weinsberg equation
Frequency of attached earlobes, q2 = 0.09, q= 0.03
Frequency of the dominant (unattached earlobe) allele: 1- 0.03 = 0.97
Percentage of the population that are heterozygous for the earlobe allele: 2pq or 0.05
