In Daniel over all cell reaction potential of the cell, will change us remains constant?
Daniel cell is a galvanic cell. It is a simple voltaic cell where Zn is at anode and Cu is at cathode. The reaction taking place at anode and cathode are:
Anode: Zn→Zn2+ +2e- (oxidation of zinc takes place)
Cathode Cu2+ + 2e--→ Cu (reduction of copper takes place)
Cell representation- Zn/Zn2+ (c1)// Cu2+(c2)/Cu
Cell potential :
The equations involved in the production energy involve ions whose concentration may change, therefore it do not gives a constant potential throughout its life.
