In estimation of National Income via Expenditure Method, Why do we include Net Exports and Not Net Imports since imports is what enters the domestic territory and not exports????

Under the expenditure method, imports is deducted from the total expenditure because imports expenditure is incurred on those final goods and services which are not part of the domestic production. Accordingly, they do not form part of GDP.
