In our chapter 3rd part -2 'The Black Aeroplane'. The writer said,"the compass was turning round and round and round. It was dead."and after some times he stated that he was lost in the storm and he saw another aeroplane in the storm,he was following,turned slowly to north.

So experts plz help me to clear out my doubt that how is it possible , he is saying thath he is lost and after some time he say the another aeroplane turned to north?????

The pilot had said that he was lost and then he said he saw a black aeroplane which guided him until he landed safely on the tarmac. This is probably due to the fact that in fear of losing his life, his mind was hallucinating and he thought he saw a friend in his time of need who helped him reach safely. The writer ends the story with a lot of questions about the pilot in the strange black aeroplane and we are left to ponder about the origins and truth of it. It seems to have been a ghost aeroplane guiding lost ones in the storm probably having suffered the same fate once or a figment of the lost pilot's imagination.
