in sexual reproduction does the new individual is identical to the parent??

Dear student, Sexual reproduction involves the formation of the male and female gamete either by the same individual or by different individual of the opposite sex. The fusion of male and female gametes here results in formation of zygote which developed to form the new organism. Because of the involvement of two gametes or parents, the new individual is not identical to the parent. Thanks and regards.
