In spite of knowing the deplorable condition of the  environment human beings only make lip service of doing something about it.[PLEASE VERY URGENT]

Caring for the planet:

The issue of indiscriminate exploitation of nature has become an essential feature of human existence. Although sustainable development of resources is a self-professed goal for most nations, the reality is hardly so. Human beings have not valued nature and natural resources because meeting the demands of the human population has always been top priority rather than taking care of the source of supply.

This callous behaviour is manifested in practises such as deforestation, destruction of wetlands, excessive mining for oil and mineral supplies, overfishing and so on. The root causes for such practises are overpopulation, inefficiency in resource utilisation, over-consumption, poverty and ineffective structures such as human institutions, regulatory bodies and attitudes.
Overkilling, habitat destruction, introduction of foreign species are some of the ways in which the destruction of wild life takes place, man forgets that every little detail is important in maintaining the health of the planet and it is in these little ways that a large impact is going to be created, taking a toll on everyone

According to the Red Data Book of International Union for Conservation of Nature, there are 47 critically endangered species in India as of September 2011. But the Red List of 2012 showed 132 species of plants and animals in India listed as critically endangered. The funds meant to help in this effort are being siphoned off for other causes and the environment ministry is not taking this matter seriously. The flora and fauna of our country is renowned for its rich diversity but the recent reports of more and more species becoming critically endangered is highly alarming.
