In stanley cohen & herbertboyer exp. They isolated antibiotic resistant gene from the plasmid and made it cloned .....whats the use of producing the antibiotic resistance in these bacteria that cause the disease and it becomes insensitive to antibiotics.....what will they do with these useless work.....will they isolate this antibody resistance gene and then introduce a foreign gene to check insertional inactivation????

Dear student

Stanley cohen & herbert boyer experiment-
They isolated recombinant DNA  and inserted it into plasmid DNA from bacterium.
Plasmids were already known to transfer drug resistance among bacteria, and this one could make E. coli resistant to the antibiotic tetracycline.

Figure. The insertion of recombinant DNA so that the foreign DNA will replicate naturally, as pioneered by Herbert Boyer and Stanley Cohen.

The bacteria were spread on a culture containing tetracycline, and only the bacteria with the rDNA plasmids survived.

please elaborate what type of disease are you talking about.
