Let the distance between plane mirror and convex mirror is l
Object is placed at distance x from plane mirror. So distance of object from convex mirror is (l+x)
Now as object distance from plane mirror is x so image distance from plane mirror is also x
So
Distance of image from convex mirror is (x-l)
Using mirror equation
1f =1u +1vHere u = -(l+x)v =(x-l)1f =-1(l+x) +1(x-l)1f =-x+l+l+x(l+x)(x-l) =2l(l+x)(x-l)f=x2-l22l
