In the experiment to find the density of a solid object, the object should be lighter or denser than water? Why?

Dear student,
To determine the density of a solid object , the object should be denser than water. Relative density can be calculated by finding the ratio between the density of the substance to the density of water at 400C. Density of water is kept as standard (1000 Kg/m3)
