in the poem ant and the cricket ....describe the ants....
A cold hard winter was upon all the creatures of creation. An ant was living off the grain that it had stored up for himself during the summer. The cricket came to the ant and asked him to share some of his grain. The cricket had whiled away his summer doing nothing but laze around without a care for the approaching hardships of winter. Now it was hungry and cold. The ant admonished the cricket for doing nothing the whole summer long while the ant was gathering grain to it. The cricket said that it was busy singing and enjoying summer so he had not had time to harvest. The ant laughed at the cricket's reply and hid its own store of grains. "You sang through summer, now keep yourself warm in winter by dancing it away,' said the ant and shut the door in the cricket's face.
