In the poem 'Keeping Quiet', why does the poet wish that he should not be misunderstood What is the central idea of the poem

Dear Student

The poet wishes that he should not be misunderstood by the stillness with total inactivity. The poet merely means disruption of those activities that are harmful to the earth and the society. He says that the beauty of life is activity while inactivity is death.

The central idea of the poem 'Keeping Quiet' is the need for peace and brotherhood. In the poem, the poet tries to tell us that we should stop our destructive activities and keep quiet for some time. By keeping quiet he means that we should look into ourselves and see what our behaviour is doing to others. We should analyse ourselves and change accordingly.
