how do we find the lowest form of a fraction

In the simplest form of a fraction, its numerator and denominator have 1 as the only common factor.
Thus, to write a fraction in its simplest from, we have to divide the numerator and denominator of the fraction by their highest common factor (H.C.F).

Hope this helps!
Consider the following example :

The lowest form of 40/80 is calculated by dividing both the numerator and denominator by their H.C.F
H.C.F. of 40 and 80 = 40
So, the lowest form of 40/80 can be calculated as,
Thus, the lowest form of 40/80 is 1/2

Hope you got the answer.
