In the topic regarding the comparison between halogens and alkali metals, the content says that halogens have low ionization potential. Isn't that wrong?
Dear Student,
Yes you are correct ! it is wrong. The alkali metals have low value of ionization potential energy and also low electronegativity which decreases down the group and so can easily lose their valence electron than helogens. So Halogens have higher ionisation PE and electronegativty.
