Given: Rate of interest = 8 25% per annum Let the time be t years and the principal be Rs x Then, $Simple Interest = \frac{P \times r \times t}{100} \Rightarrow (\frac{11}{20} x) = \frac{x \times 8 25 \times t}{100} \Rightarrow \frac{11 \times 100 \times x}{20} = x \times t \times 8 25 \Rightarrow \frac{11 \times 5}{8 25} = t \Rightarrow t = \frac{55}{8 25} years \Rightarrow t = \frac{5500}{825} = \frac{20}{3} years$ Hence, after $\frac{20}{3}$ years or $6 \frac{2}{3}$ years the sum of money will become $\frac{11}{20}$ of itself at the rate of interest 8 25% per annum
