The Lok Sabha is more powerful than the Rajya Sabha in the following ways:
Money bills can be tabled only in Lok Sabha and not Rajya Sabha. Rajya Sabha cannot reject the bill. The changes suggested by the Rajya Sabha are not binding on the lower house. Thus, the Lok Sabha controls the finances.
In case of a deadlock between the two houses over an ordinary bill, a joint sitting takes place where the will of the Lok Sabha generally prevails owing to its numerical superiority.
The Council of ministers is responsible to the Lok Sabha. A government which loses the confidence of the Lok Sabha cannot continue.
