Dear Student,
The working population in Russia different from other countries in Europe , before 1917 in the following ways :
1.Not all Russian workers migrated from the villager to work in the industrial sector. Some of them continued to live in villages and went to work in daily to the towns.
2.Majorly the Russians were involved in the agriculture sector . About 85% Russians were indulged in the agriculture whereas this proportion was much lesser in European countries. Eg : France and Germany had only 40% and 50% people in agriculture respectively.
3. Russia was behind Europe in Industrialisation. Industrialisation started in the last quarter of the 19th century. The condition of factory workers was miserable and industries were also not very well established.
4.Unlike European peasants and farmers,Russian peasants and farmers were against the nobles and aristocrats and had hatred against them. They were violent, rebellious and even murdered the landlords.
5.Peasants in Russia were natural socialists. Peasants pooled the land and used to divide them according to the needs of the individual families.
6.The autocratic government in Russia antagonised Russians by his corrupt and oppressive policies and hence the condition of Russian factory worker and peasants was not good.
Regards.
