Mohenjodaro was a​ well planned city with proper drainage system, grain storage area. Houses were made with mortars brick or mud brick. There was no ruler so here did not exist any palace.

On the other side, Pataliputra (today Patna) is the capital of Ashoka Empire. This whole city was walled and have 570 towers and 64 gates. Houses were made from mud brick or wood. People enjoyed royal celebrations when their Emperor appear in public. This city had a royal palace which was decorated with wood or stone carvings.
