In which ways GM food differs from food produced from traditional varieties?

​​​​​​Genetically modified (GM) crops have been produced from different gene sets. They are different from traditional varieties as they aim to improve harvests through reducing insect pressure, increase nutrient value and tolerate different abiotic stresses. On other hand, traditional varieties does not aim to improve the above factors.
