Insulin cannot be administered orally to diabetic patients. Why?

Dear student, 

Insulin needs to reach the bloodstream in the same form to control diabetes. However, it cannot be taken orally as the stomach acid will destroy the insulin taken orally, and such a dose will not control diabetes.
