Is 4/9 the additive inverse of -4/9 ? Why or why not ?

Yes it is coz (- 4/9)+(4/9)=0
Additive inverse of a number is the number which when added gives 0.

To get the additive inverse of a postive number you put a minus in front of it and to get the additive inverse of a negative number, you remove the minus to make it a positive number.

Yes it is , because {4/9 + -4 /9 } = {4/9+(-4/9)}=0/9=0 similarly , (-4/9 + 4/9 ) =0. Thus, 4/9 and -4/9 are additive inverse of each other.?
