Is Andrew depressed about his marriage/love life ( clarify this please) as Christine leaves him for someone else ? (this is what i understood , if wrong please clarify)

Andrew was upset because he wanted to marry Christine as he thought that the state of being married was an absolute paradise. However, two of the people he had known namely, Bramwell and Edward Page were not happy being married and this made him doubt his thoughts which he had about being married to the love of his life. He could only think of marrying Christine but the knowledge that he had gained from the experiences of the others, made him doubt his decision and hence, he had had a tiff with his girlfriend Christine.
