Is chitin a heteropolymer?

chitin is complex polysaccharides & all complex polysaccharides are mostly homopolymers. So, Chitin is homopolymer not heteropolymer.

As we look after NCERT books, we get  their that chitin is a heteropolymer but I am still confused that how it is possible as it is made of only N-acetyl glucosamine.

yes, chitin is a heteropolysaccharide cause it is made up of two components namely,
D- glucuronic acid 
N- acetyl galactosamine.
