Is it right to say ; Iron is more useful than any metal OR Iron is more useful than any other metal

Dear Student.

The next sentence is more semantically correct i.e. the sentence "Iron is more useful than any other metal" is more appropriate. The first sentence is not wrong either but adding "other" gives more meaning to the sentence when we are using comparative degree.

We hope that this answer solves your query.
Regards.
