Is jaundice a acute disease or a chronic disease? I think its a chronic disease because it lasts for 1-2 months and it can be fatal. But I am not sure about it. Help me please.

First let me clear you that jaundice is not a disease, but rather a sign that can occur in many different diseases that affect the liver like hepatitis and liver cancer. The liver usually processes a yellow coloured chemical (bilirubin) as a waste product, but when the liver is damaged, it is unable to do its normal job. The bilirubin then accumulates in the blood and starts to leak out  into nearby tissue.

Jaundice is the yellowish staining of the skin and sclera (the white portion of the eye) that is caused by high levels of bilirubin in the blood. When the condition gets worse, there occurs loss of appetite, fever, dark urine, dizziness, enlarged spleen, yellow skin, yellow sclera of eyes, tongue gets yellow, etc.

A disease can be acute or chronic depending on its duration. For example: Hepatitis where jaundice is the main symptom can be acute if it lasts in less than 6 months or chronic if it persists longer than six months.
