Is mercury(Hg) malleable and ductile?if yes i want to know how a liquid can be  beaten into thin sheets and made into wires. If not i want to know how a metal cannot be malleable or ductile

A characteristic of metals is being very malleable and ductile. However, mercury is liquid at room temperature, and being liquid, it cannot be changed into wires or thin sheets. There are probably a few exceptions to this characteristic, but most metals are malleable and ductile.
