No Diksha, this yojana has not been launched with the purpose of alleviating poverty. Instead, the basic purpose is to enable universal banking access to the people of India. Prior to this yojana, any individual or an organisation has to maintain a minimum and mandatory balance of certain amount in the bank account to keep the account operational. With the launching of this yojana, anyone and everyone can open-up a saving account at zero balance.
