what is the area of parallelogram represented by the vectors

A vector = 4i^+ 3j^ and B vector =2i^+4j^ .

The area of a parallelogram made up of vectors A and B is equal to the cross prodict of the two vectors. So,

area  = A X B

so,

area  = (4i+ 3j) X (2i+4j)

or

area = 0i - 0j + 16k

or the magnitude would be equal to 16 sq. units.
