IS THE PROPERTIES OF A COMPOUND IS SAME OR DIFFERENT TO THE PROPERTIES OF ITS CONSTITUENT ELEMENTS. FOR EXAMPLE- THE PROPERTIES OF A COMPOUND WATER IS SAME OR DIFFERENT TO THE PROPERTIES OF ITS CONSTITUENTS ELEMENTS HYDROGEN AND OXYGEN

Dear student,

Compound show different properties from its constituents.

For example : Water is a compound.

Its constituent elements are Hydrogen and Oxygen.

Formation of Water : 2H2 + O2 ----> 2H2O

Hydrogen and oxygen both are gases but water (Compound) is liquid.

Its different , Its pretty obvious , because properties in a compound are due to the electrons of the atoms, constituents retain properties in a mixture, because no interaction on atomic level is taking place.
Hope this helps :D
give a Smile, thank you
