Is the statement true-The adsorbed hydrogen is more active than ordinary hydrogen.

The statement is true.
The hydrogen absorbed on the surface of metals like platinum and palladium are more active than ordinary hydrogen. This is because the absorbed hydrogen get dissociated to form active species like free radicals which react faster than molecular hydrogen. If the metal is finely divided, it increases the surface area of metal and hence more hydrogen gas can be absorbed. This is the basis for the use of metal as a catalyst for many reactions in which hydrogen is one of the reacting substance.
