is water formed during the burning of candle?

Dear student,

Wax is a hydrocarbon, that is it contains hydrogen and carbon (it may contain more elements but these are for sure). Now you should keep in mind that when a hydrocarbon is burnt it produces carbon dioxide and water vapors, The carbon is released in form of CO2 and water in form of H2O.

Hence, water vapours are produced during the burning of a candle.
