Cobalt-60 is used for the treatment of cancer.
Technetium -99 is the locating isotope used for detection of brain tumour.
After giving the radioactive product, the brain emits gamma ray which were measure with the help of Geiger counter. The measurement is done one hour after the injection and after 24 hours. So, this difference in the measurement is useful in diagnosing the brain tumours.
