The King in ‘The Tale of Melon City’ was whimsical, gullible and a foolish one. He lacked common sense and his exaggerated sense of justice caused his own downfall. He wanted to satisfy his people even though it meant taking thoughtless decisions to do so.  A kingdom needs its ruler to be wise and intelligent, who can use their wit and common sense to see and understand things clearly otherwise the kingdom would turn into a farce.
